The most well-known accomplishments of Alencia Johnson were founder and influential roles at 1063 West Broad. She was also given the Woman of the Year award and included in EBONY magazine's "Power 100" list from Harvard University.

Alencia Johnson stands at the nexus of activism, progressive politics, and cultural transformation, fighting for justice and liberty based on love for all. As director of community engagement at the American Federation of Planned Parenthood and the Planned Action Foundation, Johnson collaborates with influential figures in politics, the media, entertainment, and business to change the culture surrounding awareness of reproductive rights, particularly around people of color and the LGBTQ community.

 

Johnson founded the district's communications section and serves as the director of community engagement for Planned Parenthood. The district's communications division is in charge of planning and carrying out national media campaigns that emphasize community involvement. Johnson, a native of Virginia, started his media career at GEICO headquarters after earning a bachelor's degree in communications and leadership from Christopher Newport University.
